"The Woodland Trust was delighted to be involved in the Awards and amazed by the high standard of the entries. Everyone who works for the Trust has a passion for woodland and the wildlife it supports. It was wonderful to see that this passion is shared by young people at schools throughout the UK and that not only do they share this passion but they are able to transfer it on to paper in way which many professional copywriters and art directors would be proud to include in their portfolios."
"Trees are 'nice', everyone likes trees but many of the schools, especially the winners, achieved something we have never been able to do which is to make trees 'cute' and to give them a personality with which young people can identify. So impressed were we with the wining entry from Bradford Girls Grammar School that we have invited them to help us in the continued development of our Family and Junior Membership products."

PDSA jumped at the chance to be involved with the Young Direct Marketing Awards and have been very impressed by the amount of interest shown and the number of entries received. At PDSA we raise a large proportion of the £37 million a year we need to run our veterinary services through direct mail so we fully appreciate all the skills required to raise money and therefore believe we are in a very good position to judge the quality of the entrants. The quality of thought and work that went into the submissions from the entrants who choose PDSA as their cause was very high, this made judging a difficult but rewarding task.
The overall winner from St. Michael's Roman Catholic School struck home for a number of reasons. The quality of the preparatory research and the presentation of the findings was extremely good. But most importantly the main proposition and the campaign to promote it were very well thought through and fitted very appropriately with how we at PDSA strive to present ourselves to supporters. So we had our winner.

Macmillan was really thrilled to be one of the charities chosen to work with the first Young Direct Marketing Awards. Every penny counts for us and the winning creative will help to raise that little bit extra for Macmillan…it all adds up.
It was a really tough choice. Myself and the rest of the judges were gob smacked with the high quality work we saw across all the regions and ages - a huge well done to you all, you really do have something to be proud of.
The winning piece is the winner because of so many things, mainly its:
adherence to the brief
creativity
ability to get the person to interact with the creative
colorfulness & particular stand out sense of fun therefore making it a more inviting pack
and finally, it's ability to focus on the message which is always to help people affected by cancer
