Charity representative: Damien Bos Account Director, Archibald Ingall Stretton
YDMA judge: Gary Munns Creative Director, Arc Worldwide

This campaign used a well thought-through ‘integrated’ approach – using a variety of different media such as a letter, leaflets and posters. However, it was the fantastic copywriting that really stood out. It’s slogan ‘Care for the Carers at Christmas’ worked really well across all the media.

This entry demonstrated a fantastic understanding of how direct marketing works separating the campaign into two parts, using different media and incentives. The campaign included everything from a direct mail piece to branded bookmarks and fridge magnets.

Judge: Aarron Martin Executive Creative Director Arc Worldwide
Charity representative: Peter Jones Head of Fundraising, Beatbullying

The thinking behind this campaign was fantastic and the creative certainly caught our attention. The team had really understood what beatbullying was about and developed a campaign which was both hard hitting and relevant. I think it could certainly pass as an agency’s piece of work.

This entry maintained the same high standard. Taking a unique approach, it targeted parents via their children. It called on a rather well known TV character and used a mechanism that the judges just couldn’t put down!

This entry demonstrated clever thinking and research around their target audience and a great understanding of the work of WWF. They’d thought through the style of the copy and tailored different elements and the creative of the campaign to specific audiences from children’s booklets for the younger audience to free seeds for adults.

Again this team had thoroughly researched their target audience and came up with some fantastic creative and copy – with effective use of shock tactics. They’d also applied WWF’s thinking in the campaign such as using recycled paper.
